31 Family-Friendly Christmas Movies

The Christmas season is nearly upon us!  I’ve always thought Christmas movies help add to the magic and anticipation of the season.  I’ve compiled a list of family-friendly Christmas movies that’ll help add good cheer to your home and holidays this year.  

A Christmas Carol (1938)

Just as mistletoe and reindeer are an integral part of the season, this classic has claimed it’s rightful spot among Christmas and holiday traditions.

It’s a Wonderful Life (1946)

I can’t believe I went 20 years without seeing this wildly inspiring holiday film which is bound to give you greater perspective and appreciation for your own unique life.  This is one I’d seriously watch on repeat.

Miracle on 34th Street (1947)

Do you believe in Santa Claus? This black and white film is hilarious! Romantic! Delightful! Charming! Tender! Exciting! And yes, even groovy!

A Christmas Carol (1954)

This 1954 version of A Christmas Carol is an excellent adaptation of Charles Dickens classic tale.  

White Christmas (1954)

Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye will set the mood for you to have a merry and bright (and potentially white) Christmas, in this heart-warming movie.  

Frosty the Snowman (1965)

Thumpity thump thump, thumpity thump thump, look at Frosty go!  This fun family film will invite Christmas magic into your home in it’s quick 25 minutes of showtime.  

A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965)

Charlie Brown wants to be a part of your holiday celebrations!  Invite him in by turning on this fun film.

Dr. Seuss How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966)

This timeless classic is one of those fun and “feel good” type movies that the whole family will love.  

The Little Drummer Boy (1968)

What will you do to honor the Christ-child today and always?  A little orphan boys life is changed forever as he discovers his own profound way he can honor the Christ-child.  

A Christmas Story (1983)

This light-hearted film will give you a glimpse of the chaos and joy of, young boy, Ralphie’s Christmas season.
