Well, this year I decided to make a simple neighbor gift which happens to be this super delicious hot cocoa mix. Not only does it taste great, but it really does look like an elegant gift to give friends and neighbors!
This hot cocoa mix is so easy to make and makes the perfect gift. We also use this hot chocolate mix when we set up our hot cocoa bars during the wintertime.
This hot cocoa mix is creamy and delicious and actually uses my secret ingredient, chocolate jello pudding!
So how do you make the perfect hot cocoa mix? With just a few ingredients and just a few steps, you will be on your way to a delicious cup of hot cocoa.
Hot Chocolate Mix
Serves 8-10
Ingredients for Hot Cocoa Mix:
3 cups of sugar
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3 cups powdered dry milk
1 package cook and serve chocolate jello pudding
- Large Mixing Bowl
- Measuring Cups
- Whisk
- Mason Jar (for storage)
How to Make Hot Cocoa Mix:
In a large bowl, whisk together all dry ingredients. Store in an airtight container for up to 6 months
How to prepare hot chocolate using mix:
Mix about ½ cup of hot cocoa with ½ cup of water for one serving.
Tips and tricks to making hot cocoa mix:
- Experiment with different flavors! Mix up your hot cocoa mix by trying different flavors of pudding! Some great options are butterscotch, caramel or french vanilla!
- Be sure you get the cook and serve pudding rather than instant pudding.
- If you would rather use powdered sugar feel free to switch it out! I do find the granules to taste better.
