Air Fryer Chicken Wings Recipe

I’m not a huge fan of getting my hands super messy, but I’ll gladly do it for some air fryer chicken wings

Wings are one of my family’s favorites. And after making them in my air fryer I don’t think that I’ll make them any other way. They were so juicy, crispy, and full of flavor! My family couldn’t believe they were only 5 ingredients!

With a perfectly cooked wing, all you need to do is add your favorite dipping sauce. You can’t go wrong with blue cheese dip, but I’m also a fan of buffalo sauce, hot sauce, and barbeque sauce. Is your mouth watering yet?

This recipe would be perfect for any day, but I’ll definitely be making some for my next homegating party! Does anything go together better than football and wings?

How to Make this Air Fryer Chicken Wings Recipe

  • Thank goodness for the air fryer, because this recipe is so simple! The first thing you should do is preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees.
  • Next, place some paper towels on a baking sheet and lay your wings on the lined sheet.
  • Pat the wings dry with the paper towels and add them to a large mixing bowl.
  • Drizzle the wings with oil to give them a light coat.
  • Add the salt, pepper, and garlic powder to the bowl and toss them until they are coated evenly.
  • Use tongs to place the wings in the basket and cook in the preheated air fryer for 10-15 minutes.
  • Serve the wings hot from the fryer with your favorite dipping sauces!

Tips Tricks and FAQs

  • Using some tongs, you should flip the wings every 5 minutes or so while they are cooking. This will help them to cook evenly so you get a perfectly crisp outside and a juicy inside!
  • Don’t be afraid to double or triple this recipe for big parties! Just grab a big mixing bowl to coat the wings and be prepared to cook them in a few batches. Luckily they cook so quickly so it’ll still be so fast!
  • If your family likes a kick to their wings, try adding about ½ tsp of chili powder to the spice mix before you add it to your wings. It adds the perfect amount of heat!

How to Make Frozen Chicken Wings in Air Fryer

You can use frozen chicken wings in a pinch, but you will need to cook them longer in your air fryer.

I’d suggest cooking raw frozen chicken wings for about 25-30 minutes at the same temperature for the most crispy wings!

I have found that frozen meats tend to not get as crispy, so you may want to bump up the temperature a bit for the last 5 minutes or so if you like crispy skin.

Storage

Chicken wings will last in the fridge for about 3-4 days if kept in an airtight container. Just pop them back in the air fryer for a few minutes to crisp them back up when you are ready to eat them.

Freezer

You can put these chicken wings in the freezer! Make sure they are in an airtight bag or container and they will stay fresh for about 4 months.
