How to Play Bible Charades

  • Start by dividing up into teams.
  • Once you have your teams established, start by one teammate drawing a Bible Charades card from the pile.
  • Your own team then tries to guess what you are acting out.
  • Without speaking, that player must act out the word or phrase on the Bible Charades Card while his or her teammates try to guess the correct answer within a given time. The more players you have the more fun it is. Of course, you can play with just two players and take turns guessing what each other is acting out too!

Tips and Tricks for Playing Bible Charades

To make the bible charade cards last longer and to get multiple uses you will want to print on cardstock and even laminate them. Having an at-home laminating machine is so useful for things like this.

Another tip would be to buy a timer. This helps keep track of time so it is always fair! I would suggest setting a time limit of 2-3 minutes. You can keep track of the time by using a game timer or set a digital timer to help keep track of the time that has passed.

Turn Bible Charades Into A Teaching Moment

Bible charades can be played during Bible School, Sunday School, or family scripture study. It is such a fun way to learn new knowledge of the bible.

After each card is drawn and correctly guessed you can pause for a brief moment and teach about the card drawn by referencing it in the scriptures where the charade guessed can be found.. This will help increase everyone’s bible knowledge.

  1. What a great idea for a family night! We might have to study up on our Bible stories beforehand, or just use this as a good review. I’ll have to try this with my kids.
