Birthday party planning can be so much fun, but at the same time, it can be stressful with all the things that you need to do and get done! Having a birthday party planning checklist is super helpful when it comes to planning and saving money! With these simple tips and tricks, you can plan a perfect birthday party on a budget!
The first thing you want to do is plan! Birthday party planning is key to a lower stress celebration!
Setting a budget is important for your birthday party planning. By setting a budget it is easier to track what you are spending. So often we don’t set budgets and think, “Oh, it won’t cost very much…” Then we pick up things here and there and by the end of it we realize we spent way more than we wanted to spend.
Pick a Day and Time
Next, you will want to pick a day a time. If you don’t want to spend a lot of money on food the most optimal time for parties is between 2 pm and 5 pm. Your guest would have had lunch before arriving and won’t be expecting dinner. You can serve small snacks and cake!
Pick a Theme
Picking a theme is one of my favorite things about birthday party planning! If your child loves dinosaurs, then you might want to look into hiring an animatronic dinosaur. When you do special things like this, you can really make their day and you can also step the party up to a whole new level.
Of course, you don’t have to go crazy, simple banners and balloons are perfect as well! Sometimes kids just want a certain color party! Amazon has a lot of awesome theme birthday supplies at really reasonable prices!
Plan the Food
An important step to planning a great birthday party is the menu. Decide on what kind of food you want to have. Make a shopping list with all the food items. And don’t forget to order the cake, or remember to pick up the supplies you need to make the cake.
Once you have done the birthday party planning it is time to send out invites! With how many great resources there are these days it is easy to create your own online. With programs like Canva to make your own or ones on Etsy you can customize your possibilities are endless!
Of course, another great option is to use digital programs like Evite to email the invitations to your guests! Not only does it save money, but it is so easy to RSVP to an online invitation!
Shop early for all the things you need! This includes all your tableware such as tablecloths, plates and cups, napkins, and silverware. You can also buy the non-perishable food, drinks, candles, thank you cards, and party favors. Don’t forget the decorations!
Preparing is key to your birthday party planning! Be sure to make all the decorations, and organize all the different games. You might want to pick up the house and put away the things you would hate to get broken.
The Day Before the Party
The day before your child’s birthday can be busy! It is important to stay organized!
Go shopping for all the food that you have not already gotten. Using an online grocery pick up can save you a ton of time the day before the party! After you have the food it is time to prep all the food you can make in advance!
You will want to decorate the day before. It always takes longer than you think to decorate so doing it early is super important!
Don’t forget to charge the camera! No one wants to realize their battery is dead when they go to take pictures at the party!
The Day of the Birthday
Before the birthday party begins you will want to make sure everything is in order. First and foremost pickup the cake! Prepare any food that you have not been able to make yet and chill the drinks. If you are going to have helium balloons be sure to pick them up or blow them up with these awesome helium machines you can buy so you can do it yourself!
When the Party Begins
When the party begins you want to make sure to have fun! This is the most important part! Because let’s be honest no one will know if something is not exactly how you planned it.
You will also want to take lots of pictures so that you can remember your child’s special day!
When it is time to go, be sure to give all the kids their goody bags.
After the Party
After the party, it is time to clean up and put your house back in order (if the party was at home!) You will want to help your child write thank you notes for the gifts they received. I love how simple these thank you notes are!
Then it is time to sit back and relax because you deserve it!
There you have it! Birthday Party Planning made simple and easy to make it low stress for you!
