Wandering Wednesday

An update on my family since last week I told you just how awesome everyone was doing here 🙂 Ty is crutching around fairly well. He is learning how to carry things in pockets, his mouth, and a backpack that pretty much goes everywhere with him. I am getting lots of help with the boys who are making deals with me that if they help make dinner then they get ice cream for dessert! And I am getting my 10k steps in without even leaving my house! Everyone is chipping in here and I am so thankful!

Grandma is now in the rehab facility, which is great news! She is really wanting to walk again, which is great motivation to see. She says that she just wants to go back home. I wish that I could see her… The downfalls of living too far away.

This week are schedule is filled with band concerts and choir concerts, it is my favorite time of year to see my kids excelling in things that they love!

I have been loving  Blogmas on the blog with all kinds of tricks and tips, have you been checking it out?

Wandering Wednesday-2This week has been especially trying for our family 🙂 Ty had surgery on his hip… He pretty much cannot walk or put any weight on his left side. My work load around the house has increased this week, helping him, doing what he used to do around the house, and helping take care of him. This to shall pass and he will be happier and healthier with his hip feeling better.

This week we got word that my Grandma who we just visited while in CA fell again and broke her pelvis. Since then she has been in and out of ICU. My heart breaks for her and for the fact that I can’t be there with her. I reflect on the special bond I have with her and all the memories we have shared throughout the years… She is the one who taught me how to sew. It is because of her that I love to do it! I am so grateful that while we were there we took the time to take the kids to go visit her… We just don’t know how much longer we will be able to do that.

With all this being said I am so grateful for this time of year and the opportunity we have to give to others, and spend time with our friends and loved ones! Have you found all those special presents yet??? Maybe Blogmas could help you find just what you are looking for!

Before we get started I wanted to announce starting in the new year we will be having guest co-hosts at the link ups! If you are interested in becoming a guest co host please let me know here!

Wow! What a week it has been! We had so much fun in California visiting my family last week, but I feel like I am racing to catch up and just getting further and further behind. Do you ever feel like that coming home from vacation?

Yesterday Ty had hip surgery… Which prompted my latest post, What if it’s the last time? It made me really think about the time we spend with our loved ones, especially our spouses!

With it being Thanksgiving last week, I was also able to guest post at my good friend Flossie’s blog Super Mom Hacks and talk about How to Teach your Kids Gratitude. True confessions happening over there as to how my life used to be while shopping with my kids before learning some valuable lessons!

And starting tomorrow we have something special happening on the blog! So be sure to come back then and see our big news; you won’t want to miss it… and I promise it will make your holiday season easier and a little less stressful!

With it being Thanksgiving last week we had a small link up, but not many people voted so we will just go ahead and start the blog party right now! So let’s get the party started right now! Click here to see the awesome blog posts!

She has one child and works full time. She follows simple, yet effective steps each day to stay on top of everything from her house, to her daughter, to her mind and her work.

Go check out her post here because it is so funny and I am sure we can all relate! How many of those things have you done? Me personally, 4/5 (I won’t tell you, which one I haven’t done 🙂 )

“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…” Oh what? It’s not even Thanksgiving yet? I know… I know… but if you walked into my house it would certainly say hello Christmas! The kids begged me to please decorate for Christmas, so here we sit 41 days before Christmas is even here! They are wondering where Buster (the Elf) is because they are ready! Which brings me to our Elf… His name is Buster and you can follow him on Instagram after Thanksgiving at #WheresBuster.

Do you have an elf? Does he move everyday? Does he cause mischief? Do you need ideas for your elf? Well, good news.. I have a Pinterest Page completely devoted to the elf here! (if you want to be a contributor to this page, go ahead and follow me and let me know down in the comments!)

Don’t have an elf and want to buy one? Currently available at Amazon

Well, enough about Christmas! This is about meeting some other AMAZING bloggers on our weekly link up party! But before we get started:

Our Featured Post

This week is a tie! Both of these amazing ladies have been featured before and we are so happy to feature them again!

Lori from Choosing Wisdom is a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.  She is a lover of learning, and often found devouring a book or writing. She enjoys biking and traveling with her husband as well as spending time with her grandson. Her adult kids are optional :). She wrote the perfect post called What Does Practicing Patience Really Teach Us?  Check it out!

We also have April, from Mojitos & Munchkin. April is a proud Iowan, who now lives in Minnesota with her hubby and their three cherubs. After nearly a decade teaching, she is on a break from the classroom and enjoying life as a work-from-home Mom. You can find her writing on Scary Mommy, Daily Mom, and her blog, Mojitos and Munchkins, that she uses as a creative outlet to escape the craziness that comes with life. She loves movies, cocktails, the color purple, homemade spaghetti sauce, day dates and sunny afternoons. She thinks the world would be a better place without temper tantrums, soup, the color navy, temperatures that dip below 20 degrees, and the distance between people she loves. Her insomnia allows her to pin things that she may (or may not ever) try. You can connect with her on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. She is featured for her post Why I Let My Kids Destroy the Kitchen

Wandering Wednesday-2

I can’t believe it is already November! September and October have flown by this year… I am looking forward to football ending (even though I LOVE watching my kids) so that I can curl up with a blanket, some hot chocolate, and a good book and relax… Ok! Who am I kidding?! Life is never that slow, but maybe I can drink some Luke warm hot chocolate in between loads of laundry and scrubbing toilets while wearing my joggers, with messy hair and no makeup on because I don’t have to leave the house! A girl can dream, right? 🙂

We survived Halloween last night with a drizzly 6pm football game for Colby and then headed straight home for some quick trick or treating! If you want to see what the kids were stop by on Saturday for our weekly “There is Sunshine in My Soul” post to see their Halloween Costumes! or checkout my Instagram or Twitter page for a sneak peek.

Well, enough about me! This is about meeting some other AMAZING bloggers on our weekly link up party! But before we get started:

There is Sunshine in My Soul #7

There is sunshine in my soul

football gear

So last week Chase played in the playoff game for their football league…

They won and Super Bowl Bound are headed to the Super Bowl today!

They are 8-0 and have had a fantastic season. It is so fun to watch him excel at something he enjoys. He now says he loves football and tackling is the best part! I ask him if he is going to play in middle school and he says, “No, there is too much running!” Um… last I checked he liked running :). Time will tell.

It is crazy to think that Halloween is next week! What are your kids going to be? IMG_0303We have a pea pod, a Princess who refuses to wear her dress, and two undetermined boys :). Colby has a football game on Halloween so it doesn’t leave much time for trick or treating. What are your kids going to be? Do you have any rules about trick or treating? One of mine is you can’t trick or treat after 12 unless it is with a younger sibling… But don’t worry I still buy them a bag of candy 🙂

Soon we move onto the wonderful month of November! That means we will be headed home in a few weeks and I am so excited to go and see everyone! I love my family so much… I swear I am like a little kid in a candy store about it! This season has flown by…

So that brings us to what have I been grateful for this week!

Wandering Wednesday-2To my awesome readers: Thank you so much for your patience as I have been MIA since Saturday! Life has been hectic here. We are in the process of selling our car and trying to find a new one (any suggestions for room for 7 and storage in the back?) TJ has been wanting to eat nonstop which allows me to get nothing done! (Good thing you can’t see my house 🙂 ) Talie has been contributing to the mess around the house! The boys are still busy with sports! And that shed! I know you are waiting for an update and video of the progress and the completion! I promise it’s coming! If you haven’t read our post Heaven Help Me! Not Another Home Improvement Project do! You will learn all about how to work together with your spouse on projects! I promise though I will still be able to find something to be grateful for in There is Sunshine in my Soul (last week’s post) this week!

We unfortunately don’t have a guest blogger this week, because we only got 2 votes! So please be sure to vote this week for your favorite post so we can feature them!

There is Sunshine in My Soul #6

There is sunshine in my soul

Fall is in the air finally in Texas! It is nice to sit here with the windows open feeling the breeze! This week has again flown by with football games, playdates at the park, and painting the shed!

Yes, remember the shed we were building in the post Heaven Help Me! Not Another Home Improvement Project? We are finally to the painting part! And yes, we might have had to pull up the article for a refresher course when it was my turn to be in charge again 🙂

I feel like life is starting to calm down a bit and I am finally headed out of mom funk. How has your mom funk gotten since finding gratitude each day?

So that brings us to what have I been grateful for this week!
