Tips Tricks and FAQs

  • You can easily sub out fresh herbs for dried herbs if that’s what you have around. But dried herbs are much stronger in flavor, so you’ll want to add much less. I recommend about 2 tsp dried oregano, 4 tsp dried parsley, and 4 tsp dried basil for the perfect flavor.
  • Learn from my mistakes! You’ll want to add the chicken to your bag before adding your marinade. If you add the marinade it makes a huge mess while you are trying to add your chicken.
  • I often put my chicken right into my glass baking dish and pour the marinade over top of the chicken. Then all I have to do is pop on the lid to chill and when I’m ready to bake my chicken I just pour out a bit of the marinade. That way I can skip using a plastic bag and have everything ready to pop into the oven.
  • You may want to put your bag of chicken on a plate or dish in your fridge just in case there are any leaks. It always gives me peace of mind because cleaning chicken juice in your fridge is such a headache!

Storage

Place the leftover chicken in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 4 days, or you can freeze it for up to 4 months. This recipe is great for shredding chicken to put in the freezer for a rainy day!
