Why do my chocolate chips sink to the bottom of my pancakes?

The main reason chocolate chips sink to the bottom of your pancakes is because they are heavy.

The batter simply cannot support the weight.

How do you keep your chocolate chips from sinking in pancakes?

I have good news to help you with your sinking chocolate chips in your pancakes!

First, try to use mini chocolate chips. These are much lighter and the batter can support them better.

But if you are like me, you are probably thinking, “I don’t have mini chocolate chips on hand!”

So, if you are using full-size chocolate chips be sure to toss them in flour first. By doing this it helps support the weight of the chocolate chip and prevents it from sinking.

I am serious! Try it and tell me how it goes!

When you are ready to eat them, you can heat them back up on the griddle to warm them up.

If you are not going to eat them for a few days, I suggest you freeze your chocolate chip pancakes. To learn how to freeze pancakes click here.
