I don’t know about you, but it seems like my family has been sick for the past two months on and off with some type of cold. When you have to be out and about while you had a cold, a cold survival kit for your purse is essential!
Life becomes so much easier when you have everything you need with you in your purse when you are out and about.
Travel size kleenex
We all know kleenex is one of the most important and useful things to have on hand when you have a cold. So I always try to have travel size kleenex in my purse at all times!
The travel size packs are awesome because they can easily fit into your purse or bag and you will always have a tissue when you need one!
Cold Eeze Zinc Lozenges
These lozenges are amazing and have actually been proven to cut the duration of your cold in half, so you definitely want these in your cold survival kit!
Having cough drops with you wherever you go when you have a cold is a must! These are one of those simple comforts that make the biggest difference when you have a cough or a sore throat.
Tylenol cold medicine
Add a couple of these Tylenol cold pills to your cold survival kit for your purse! Cold medicine is always nice to have on hand for those times when you just need a little extra help.
There is nothing worse than being blocked and not being able to breathe through your nose… Nasal Spray is great to have in case you really need to clear out those sinuses.
Hand sanitizer is probably the most used item in my cold survival kit.
I am constantly using it to try to prevent spreading my germs to other people since I know how miserable it can be to have a cold!
I use hand sanitizer religiously to make sure I’m also not picking up any new germs. There’s something about being sick that makes us extra aware and cautious of germs!
Have you ever been out and about and needed chapstick but didn’t have it on hand?
I know I have and once my lips feel the need for chapstick, it seems like that’s all I can think about!
When you have a cold, all that nose-blowing and wiping can make your lips pretty dry. It is a great idea to add chapstick to your cold survival kit for your purse!
What is a Cold Survival Kit for a neighbor or friend:
When I hear that one of my friends or neighbors has a cold, I always wish I could help ease their burden a little bit but sometimes I don’t know how I can help!
We have all gone through a cold a time or two (or too many to count) before so we know how nice it is to have someone help in any way. This cold survival kit for a neighbor or friend will give them all the necessary things to start feeling a little bit better and it will brighten their day knowing that someone is thinking of them and is willing to help!
There is something so cozy and soothing about drinking a warm cup of herbal tea.
Did you know herbal tea actually helps reduce cold symptoms? So this is the perfect thing to add to your cold survival kit for your neighbor!
My favorite herbal tea is from teapigs! Stirring a little bit of honey also helps loosen phlegm, soothe and suppress a cough.
Having a cold can really wear you out. A good soak in the tub is just what the body needs to relax and recover.
Another bonus is that Epsom salt is known to help detoxify the body, so they are perfect to add to your cold survival kit for your neighbor or friend! They will be thanking you for these!
Gatorade or Vitamin water
Staying hydrated is one of the best things to ensure that recovery is quicker and complications don’t arise!
Tissues are an absolute must for a cold survival kit.
With how often we have to blow our noses when we have a cold, I always love to use the tissues with lotion. They help soothe the skin and aren’t so rough!
Can of soup and crackers
Just like herbal tea, there is something equally as comforting about a warm bowl of soup.
This is the perfect item to add to your cold survival kit for a neighbor or friend to help comfort and soothe their throat!
Hand sanitizer is something that is so nice to have on hand during a cold.
Colds seem to spread from one person to another so quickly so hand sanitizer is essential to stop those germs as quickly as possible!
You will definitely want to add cough drops to your cold survival kit! They make a cold much more bearable and give that much-needed relief.
I have had times when I feel awful and go to take some cough medicine only to realize I don’t have any on hand.
Going to the store is the last thing I want to do when I have a cold so adding cold medicine to your cold survival kit for your neighbor or friend will be so helpful and so appreciated!
If you want to add something extra nice and cozy to your cold survival kit for your friend or neighbor, throw in a warm and fuzzy blanket!
There you have it! Everything you need for your cold survival kit to make it through cold and flu season!
