This Creme Brulee recipe is a taste of my childhood and a must-taste recipe that you will love and is so easy to make with these simple directions!

I remember when I was growing up, going out to dinner with my Grandma and Grandpa at Steakhouses. It was a super special treat to be able to go out to dinner with them because we didn’t go out very often. I would put on my fanciest church dress and curl my hair.

My grandpa would always order me a Shirley temple and let me order whatever I wanted for dinner. After dinner, they would always ask if we wanted dessert. At that point my grandma would always ask, “Michele, do you want to share creme brulee?”

My eyes would then light up and I would eagerly shake my head yes, and say, “oh yes, please!”

I would wait patiently for it to come (which seemed like forever…) and then the creme brulee would arrive. My grandma and grandpa would always put it right in front of me so I could crack the top and have the very first bite!

Oh, the taste! Yum!

Over the years my love for Creme Brulee has increased! It has increased so much that I have made it my mission to be able to make Creme Brulee at home. I am going to be really honest, I have tried to make a variety of Creme Brulee recipes at home and have never found the perfect recipe, until now!

This Creme Brulee recipe brings me back to my childhood going to dinner with my grandparents, so every time I make this it’s like a little part of them! Oh, how I miss those days. (Love and miss you Grandma and Grandpa!)

In a small bowl, add a little bit of the heated cream and then slowly pour in the same amount of the egg mixture, while beating to temper the eggs.

Add more of the hot cream, mixing while adding it. This it to prevent the eggs from cooking and the mixture from becoming lumpy.

Mix the rest of the egg and cream together and then pour all of it into a container with a spout, if available. This makes it easier to pour. Otherwise, a ladle is fine.
