These delicious cheesy ranch potatoes take almost no time to prepare. They’ll be the perfect side for a busy family meal!
The first thing you want to do is grease your slow cooker with some cooking spray. This recipe gets pretty cheesy, so you don’t want it sticking to your slow cooker.
Next, add your chopped potatoes directly to the slow cooker. You’ll want to chop your potatoes into ½ inch pieces before doing this!
Season your potatoes with salt, pepper, and paprika and stir to make sure that the potatoes are covered.
In a separate small bowl, combine the ranch dressing and sour cream with a whisk. Pour the mixture over the potatoes and add the shredded cheese. Give the potatoes another quick toss to coat and put your lid on your slow cooker.

My personal favorite cheese to use with this recipe is a nice sharp cheddar. Sharp cheddar cheese has more of a strong rich cheese flavor which tends to pair well with potatoes. It also can hold up to the strong ranch flavor and gives this a good balance.
However, you can do whatever your family likes! If you want to tone down the cheesy flavor, use a medium or mild cheese instead.
