How to Make Forky Tutorial
Does anyone else have major Disney fans in their house?
We love Disney! In fact, we love it so much that most of our kids’ first movie in the theatre was a Disney movie!
Toy Story 4 came out just about the time that I would even consider taking Tony to the movies, so we decided that Toy Story 4 would be Tony’s first movie!
He did great!
Talie left the movie theatre talking about all the characters, especially Bonnie and her best friend Forky.
I knew it that point that she would love a craft day with mom making Forky.
So, I created this super easy Forky tutorial that is perfect to do with your kids. This project takes about 15 minutes to make and is a fun thing to do together!
So, without waiting anymore, here are the directions to make your very own Toy Story 4 Forky!
How to Make Forky from Toy Story

Time : 10 minutes
What materials do I need to make Forky?
When making Forky you just need some basic materials that you can find usually on Amazon or your local craft store. I found finding the Spork was the hardest part.
Items needed to make Forky
1 spork
2 small googly eyes
1 small blue rubber band
1 Twizzler Pull n Peel
1 red pipe cleaner
White playdough
1 craft stick
1 small rainbow sticker

Hot glue
Optional- E6000 is ideal for the rubberband

How to make Forky from Toy Story 4
You want to first begin making Forky from Toy Story 4 by taking a strand of licorice off the Twizzler pull and peel.
This will become Forky’s eyebrow.
To make his eyebrow you will want to measure (using your spork how big you want your eyebrow to be). Cut with your scissors the length that you would like and then glue it on with the hot glue gun.
You can also use craft glue or school glue, it just will take longer to dry.
After you have attached Forky’s eyebrow, it is time to attach Forky’s mouth.
To attach his mouth you will want to use a hot glue gun or E6000. When you attach it, you want to make sure you squish the rubber band to make it a mouth-like shape.
Next, glue on the googly eyes.
The next step to making Forky, is laying your spork in the center of the red pipe cleaner.
You will want to twist each side around the base of the spork twice to secure.
Then, bend the tips of the pipe cleaners three times forming his hands.
Next, take your white Playdoh and roll a small 2-inch ball.
Then break your craft stick in half and attach your rainbow sticker to one of the pieces.
Place your spork into the top of the play-doh ball and insert your craft sticks into the bottom making Forky’s feet.
Tips and Tricks for Making Forky
What is Forky Made of?
Well, according to Forky in the Toy Story 4 movie, Forky was made of Trash! But our Forky tutorial is not made of trash! He is made of basic supplies that you can find at your local craft store.
Where do I find a spork to make Forky?
Finding a spork can be difficult to find. I checked all around locally and I could not find them. Amazon does have them. Perhaps have your kids bring home a spork from the cafeteria so you can make forky.
Forky is fragile
Just like Forky in the movie, Forky is fragile. So you will want to be careful with him. The good news is if something accidentally happens to your Forky you can make a new “Forky” friend to take everywhere with you.
Using hot glue to make Forky
Using a hot glue gun is ideal for making Forky because it dries so quickly. This is especially true when you are making Forky’s mouth. Place hot glue where the mouth will go and then use the E6000 rubber band and lay it on top. The glue dries clear and the rubberband sticks great!
Just be sure you help kids with this part so they don’t burn their fingers while placing the rubber band. Toothpicks work great to allow them to still place the rubber band without getting burnt.
Can I use school glue/craft glue to make Forky?
Yes, you can use craft glue or school glue to make Forky. It will just take longer for the pieces to set / dry.
Where can I find small blue rubber bands for Forky?
Usually small blue rubber bands are available at most craft stores.
Can I use something other than Playdoh to make Forky?
In the movie, Forky is made using Playdoh, but you can really use anything you have on hand or want to purchase. If you want to make homemade playdoh that will work great or even molding clay from the store.
What order should I make Forky’s face?
When making Forky’s face you want to place his mouth before you put on his eyes. This makes sure you have enough room for everything.
Often times kids get so excited when they see googly eyes they place them to far down. Placing the mouth first allows them to have enough room for everything.
