Tips Tricks and FAQs

  • You can substitute regular milk into this recipe if that’s what your family prefers. Depending on how creamy that you would like your pumpkin oatmeal to be, you can use low fat or full fat milk in place of the almond milk.
  • Pecans are one of my favorite nuts to use for topping breakfasts, desserts, and more. I could just snack on them because they’re so yummy. But let me tell you, they are one hundred percent better if you toast them first! Preheat your oven to 375 degrees and place the pecans on a baking sheet in an even layer. Toast in the oven for 10 minutes or until you smell the nutty flavor.
  • If you don’t have pumpkin pie spice, skip the trip to the store and make your own! I have the best recipe for pumpkin pie spice that is so simple and stores well inside your pantry. And did I mention it only takes 5 minutes to make? You won’t ever want to be premade pumpkin pie spice again!

Storage

To store your pumpkin oatmeal, place it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Can I use steel-cut oats for Instant Pot Pumpkin Oatmeal?

You can absolutely use steel-cut oats, but you have to keep in mind that they will cook at different speeds. Steel-cut oats may take up to 5 minutes on high pressure to get them tender and perfect for this recipe.
