Should I let the pork tenderloin rest after I remove it from the slow cooker?

Yes, you will want to let your pork tenderloin rest after it reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees.

Once your pork tenderloin with fresh cranberries reaches 145 then remove it from the slow cooker and let it rest. This seals in the juices of the pork and makes it even more delicious!

I don’t have maple syrup, can I use something else?

If you find yourself making the best pork tenderloin slow cook recipe and you realize you don’t have maple syrup at home, don’t panic and don’t hop in the car and run to the store.

While I do prefer using maple syrup you can substitute it for granulated sugar. So instead of ½ of maple syrup go ahead and use a ½ cup of sugar and you will be fine.

Do I need to save the cranberry sauce?

You do not need to save the cranberry sauce for the topping, but it does look so pretty and does taste quite delicious, so I highly recommend it!

Can you slow cook pork too long?

Overcooking pork is pretty hard to do. As long as your slow cooker has moisture in it the meat just keeps getting more and more tender.

If this happens with your Cranberry pork tenderloin in the slow cooker, when you go to slice your tenderloin it won’t slice very well. It will actually begin to pull.

It will still taste amazing, it just won’t look as pretty.

How long does pork take in the slow cooker?

If you are cooking your pork on low it will take about 4-5 hours. You will want to make sure the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees. This meat thermometer is my favorite for checking internal temperatures.

Can I cook on high instead of low in the slow cooker?

If you have time to allow your pork tenderloin to cook on low, the do it, but if time is an issue you can cook on high without compromising the flavor.

Note that the ratio from low to high is for every hour on high equals two hours on low.

Can I use pork loin instead of pork tenderloin?

Pork loin and pork tenderloin are two different cuts of meat from two different places of the pig.

Pork loin is wide and thick, while pork tenderloin is narrow and long. I suggest using pork tenderloin, but if you don’t have it or can’t find it pork loin will do, but it might not be as tender and might take longer to cook. So, be sure you check for an internal temperature of 145 degrees.
