Tips Tricks and FAQs

  • I always put my donut batter in a piping bag and snip the end to pipe the batter into the donut pan. It makes it so much easier to get the thick batter into the pan evenly!
  • Make sure you don’t overcook your donuts. You’ll want to take them out when they are just starting to turn golden brown and they will be perfect.
  • This recipe is great for a basic baked donut recipe. You can really decorate them however you want! You can color the batter before baking, add a coloring icing, or keep everything simple. Let me know how you decorate your donuts!

Storage

To keep your donuts fresh, keep them on the counter in a sealed bag or container for up to 4 days.

What is the difference between fried and baked donuts?

Fried donuts have a crispy shell and a more bread-like center. While baked donuts are soft throughout and have a more cake-like texture.

Both are delicious, but I’m pretty partial to these yummy cake-donuts!
