Water Toys Toddlers Will Love
Summer is coming! I welcome the warm weather, tans, vacations, and of course… toddler water toys!
Summer is supposed to be a vacation, but let me tell you it doesn’t always feel like it for me! Summer means lots of activity planning and kids begging to get some fun in the sun.
Having some water toys for toddlers in my home is my secret weapon for summer days. I love that water toys are usually little-to-no preparation and I can pull one out that my kids will enjoy for hours.
Will older kids enjoy these outdoor water toys for toddlers?
Even though this list has the best water toys for toddlers and younger kids, I promise that your older kids will want to play with these water toys too!
The great thing about water toys is that they are usually pretty adaptable for quite a few ages. You may even find yourself not being able to resist the fun with some of the toys on this list!

So I’ve put together a list of the best outdoor water toys for toddlers! Whether you want a simple sprinkler or a large family toy, there’s something in this list for you!
Bonzai Sprinkle and Splash Mat
The Bonzai Sprinkle and Splash Mat is perfect for young toddlers! Some toddler water toys make me a little nervous when my little ones are just learning to walk and stand, and this simple splash pad makes me feel like my child is safe and secure!
This cute splash pad fills with water and sprays water onto a small circle pad. To fill up the splash pad you can attach a hose which means that you can adjust the water pressure to the toddler’s safe level!
You could easily fit one or two little ones on this pad, but keep in mind that it’s intended for young kids!
Intex Dinosaur Inflatable Play Center
I am so amazed by the Intex Dinosaur Inflatable Play Center. This is definitely not your simple backyard sprinkler toy!
It’s a pretty large inflatable water pool that has a slide, sprinkler, and basketball style game attached to a shallow pool. It’s shallow enough that your toddlers can safely play but big enough for older kids and adults too.
It’s relatively inexpensive for a toy that can potentially fit your whole family inside!
Step 2 Rain Showers Splash Pond
We love our water table! Water tables are the best water toys for toddlers because they are simple, low maintenance, and a great sensory experience. The Step 2 Rain Showers Splash Pond is a great option if you have little ones at home.
The Step 2 water table is larger than most tables and includes tons of accessories and attached toys. I could definitely see my kids playing with this for hours!
It also has a drain plug which is a huge plus for water tables because it makes cleaning and upkeep so much easier.
Tomser Extra Large Children’s Sprinkler Pool
The Tomser Extra Large Children’s Sprinkler Pool is pretty similar to the Bonzai water toy for young toddlers, but it’s one of the best outdoor water toys for toddlers and young kids.
It’s an oversized shallow kiddie pool that has sprinklers around the edge that sprays into the pool. This Tomser sprinkler pool is just like having a splash park in your own backyard, so skip the trip and have fun right at home!
Your kids, whether little or big, will enjoy slipping and sliding together all day with this sprinkler pool.
Bunch O Balloons
Though they are a one time use, a pack of Bunch O Balloons is something you definitely want to keep around this summer!
Water balloon fights were once something that took hours of me filling balloons to get ready. Not fun! These Bunch O Balloons fill up all at once in just about a minute and do all the work for you. In my opinion, the best outdoor water toys are ones that don’t take much preparation so these are a total win!
The best outdoor water toys for toddlers and big kids don’t have to be huge or complicated! Iif your kids love soaking each other with a water fight, make sure that you grab a pack of Bunch O Balloons to keep around for a hot day.
Step 2 Play and Shade Pool
Do you get so nervous having your little ones out in the sun all day? Even when I lather on sunscreen I worry about my toddler’s sweet young skin. The Step 2 Play and Shade Pool solves that problem with a genius shaded pool!
The pool is small and shallow enough for a young toddler. It’s pretty simple, but it comes with a large umbrella that shades the pool from the sun!
I love that I could let my little ones play in this for an afternoon and not worry about sunburns and overheating!
Wham-O Slip ‘N Slide
I have such treasured memories of summer activities growing up and one of them is playing on a slip ‘n slide! The Wham-O Slip ‘N Slide is a classic long slip ‘n slide that will let your kids race and slide as fast as they can! This is for sure a toddler water toy you will not regret buying.
You may have to teach your toddlers how to safely slide across the slippery mat, but once the hang of it you won’t be able to get them to stop!
This mat even has two separately colored lanes so two of your kids can race to the finish line. This would be so much fun and a great memory-maker.
Joyin Mega Melon Ball Jumbo Sprinkler
How cute is the Joyin Mega Melon Ball Jumbo Sprinkler?! I’ve never seen anything like this huge ball-shaped sprinkler. It’s decorated to look like a big watermelon which really puts me in the summertime spirit!
This is a great water toy for toddlers, but your bigger kids will love it too. The water pressure can easily be adjusted which is a huge bonus when you have different ages using the toy.
You can enjoy watching your kids play in the streams of water, and join them as they run and dance and cool down on a warm day.
Hitop Water Guns
No summer is complete without a water gun fight and the Hitop Water Guns are the way to go!
This set of 2 water guns is simple enough for your youngest family member but big enough to do some serious soaking!
Grab a few sets of these guns for a low-stress family activity that will have you all laughing and enjoying each other’s company.
Melissa and Doug Sunny Patch Blossom Bright Sprinkler
If you are looking for something that doesn’t take up much space, the Melissa and Doug Sunny Patch Blossom Bright Sprinkler is perfect! Toddler water toys are often pretty large, but this simple inexpensive sprinkler is sweet and simple.
There’s no cleanup needed and all you need to do is attach a hose to get this water toy going! This would be a great everyday toy that you can keep around to beat the heat all summer long.
I can definitely see myself sipping a cool drink and working on my tan while I watch my kids play together with this simple toy.
