Sometimes we have so much on our plates that it feels overwhelming to think about cleaning the house every day! This cleaning schedule for stay at home moms is the perfect solution.

The thing I love about this cleaning schedule for stay at home moms is that it isn’t overwhelming and is totally doable because once I make my schedule I just focus on that specific task each day.

 I end up feeling productive, much happier, and I can still spend time with my kids because I’m not spending my whole day cleaning! 

Why Should You Schedule Your Cleaning?

I don’t know about you, but I thrive on schedules. I like to know what is coming next and have things planned out so that I know I have my day is doable. I can tell you that when you have a list you will get more done than walking around trying to figure out where to start. 

If you’re like me, then you are going to love this cleaning schedule for stay at home moms. I know how daunting housework can be so I am going to keep this pretty simple and straightforward. 

Tips for a Cleaning Schedule

Before we dive into the cleaning schedule for stay at home moms, here are a few tips to help the cleaning schedule for stay at home moms really work.

Tip #1 – Get the Kids Involved

 The first tip is to get the kids involved. I know you can probably do things a whole lot faster and, let’s face it, a whole lot more thorough than they can but if you get them involved, not only are they letting you clean instead of diverting your attention to something else, but they are also learning this super valuable skill. Blast some music to make it fun and exciting! There are so many kid appropriate chores that they can do! 

Tip #2- All Things Can Be Adapted

Another tip when diving into your cleaning schedule for stay at home moms is to remember that you can adapt this schedule to fit what works best for you! You might love to use a schedule similar to mine, or you might feel more comfortable spending the time after the kids go to bed cleaning the house. Maybe you’d even rather spend a few hours on Saturdays cleaning the whole house at once. Whatever you decide to do, try your hardest to stick with it!!

In my cleaning schedule for stay at home moms, I have a list of daily tasks that I repeat every morning and then do a quick (seriously) pick up in the evening. These are just simple tasks that keep things feeling tidy, and that you might already be doing anyways! 

Tip #3- Write Out a Monthly List

Along with the daily tasks, I pick a day each week to focus on a different area in my home. Again, you can switch these up depending on what you feel like your home needs. 

In addition to this weekly cleaning schedule for stay at home moms, I also like to keep a list of monthly tasks that are more of a deep cleaning than the normal weekly tasks. Pick a day each week to knock out one of those monthly tasks on your list. You could add a monthly task to your Monday since that day is a little simpler, or even to your Saturday while laundry is running. 

Cleaning Schedule For Stay At Home Moms

Daily Tasks:

I love to start my mornings with a good morning routine! Every morning, take about thirty minutes to make your bed, clean the kitchen counters and empty the dishwasher/ load the dishes.

Every night before I head to bed I like to do just a quick walk around the house and tidy up any toys or clutter that has accumulated throughout the day. I’m talking quick- like 15 minutes. You don’t have to spend all day cleaning in order to keep things tidy! 

Monday: Dusting 

Dust every surface that needs dusting in your house. I like to use a damp microfiber cloth to dust. Your younger kids will love helping you dust! 

Tuesday: Bathrooms

Spend today cleaning all the bathrooms in your house. This is a great job to get your older kids involved in cleaning. 

Wednesday: Mop the floors

Today’s task is to mop all of the hard floors in your house. 

Thursday: Vacuum

Vacuum all the carpet in your house, including any stairs! 

Friday: Kitchen

Today, give the kitchen a deeper clean. Shine up the counters, clean all the appliances and organize the pantry and fridge. Don’t forget to add sweep and mop the floors

Saturday: Laundry 

Saturday is laundry day! Make sure as you’re doing laundry today to include all the sheets and towels that need to be cleaned. A successful laundry day is one where you sort, wash, dry, fold, and put all the laundry away. If you have a big family like mine, laundry is a several times a week job. 

Sunday: Daily Tasks

On Sunday, the cleaning routine is a bit simpler. Just complete the daily tasks to keep your house feeling tidy. 

Monthly Cleaning Tasks:

Here are a few ideas to include on your monthly task list that can be added to a day each week or some that you can focus on when you have more time or a rainy day at home. 

Wipe down baseboards, organize a closet, declutter an area or cupboard that has been bugging you, clean light fixtures, clean out the car., organize the garage. 

Now you have an idea on how to make a cleaning schedule for a stay at home mom you can start planning your own schedule. Just remember all things do not have to be perfect and you can do a room a day or just a task a day. The older your children get the key is to have them help you make this schedule possible.

I’m someone who is obsessed with making lists of every thing that I do, and having the satisfaction that comes when I finally check it off is priceless. I will definitely incorporate a monthly cleaning schedule for large cleaning tasks, thank you for the tip!
