Print our free Pool Scavenger Hunt for your next swim day! Easy, fun, and perfect for kids of all ages to stay entertained and explore.
You know those pool days when the kids start asking you to judge cannonball contests… for the tenth time?
That’s usually my cue to break out something fresh—and this Free Pool Scavenger Hunt is just the thing! It’s the perfect mix of fun, movement, and observation, all while they’re already splashing around.
Whether you’re headed to the neighborhood pool, a backyard inflatable, or even a hotel during vacation, this pool-themed hunt is the easy activity you’ll be so glad you packed.
Why We Love Pool Scavenger Hunts
This pool scavenger hunt has saved the day more times than I can count! Here’s why it’s one of our summer must-haves:
- It’s low-prep and easy—just print it out and toss it in the beach bag.
- It works for all ages—little ones can spot the big stuff, and older kids love the challenge of finding every last item.
- Perfect when “just swimming” isn’t cutting it anymore—this keeps them engaged without adding chaos.
- It sneaks in awareness and responsibility, too—there’s even a space for picking up trash around the pool!
- They’re building observation skills while they play, and they don’t even realize it.
How We Use It at the Pool
This little scavenger hunt has become one of my go-tos when the kids start getting antsy in the water. Here’s how we make it fun (and super easy!):
- I print one for each kid before we head out—no last-minute scrambling.
- We slip them into a zip-top bag or use clipboards so they don’t get soaked by a rogue splash.
- I hand out washable or waterproof markers—my kids love using the bright neon ones!
- Sometimes they go at their own pace, and sometimes we turn it into a friendly race (depending on who’s in a competitive mood ).
- When they finish? We celebrate with a poolside snack or a popsicle—because they earned it!
Mom tip: I laminated ours once and now we reuse it with dry-erase markers all summer. Easy, fun, and totally worth it.
