Pumpkin Dip with Cool Whip
Fall is in the air and I am dreaming of everything pumpkin! The other day I was craving a pumpkin treat like our moist pumpkin bread, or our instant pot pumpkin cheesecake, but didn’t want to wait for them to cook, so I decided to whip up a delicious bowl of pumpkin fluff. The kids loved it and it is so easy to make and ready in just a few minutes.
This pumpkin fluff with cream cheese is a great after-dinner snack or even after school snack to enjoy as a family. Regardless of when you make it, the whole family will love it!
What is fluff?
You might be wondering what the heck is fluff? I used to wonder the same thing. Fluff is essentially anything that is made with
- cool whip
- some sort of fruit
- marshmallows
- nuts
Fluff is what we call something when we can’t decide if it is a side dish or a dessert. This pumpkin fluff is made of pumpkin pie mix and cool whip. You can easily add nuts and mini marshmallows if you want to get really creative with it.
Pumpkin Pie Fluff
Prep Time: 5 minutes once cream cheese is at room temperature
Total Time: 5 minutes
Makes: A large bowl of dip
Serves: 16+
Ingredients
- 1 15oz can of pumpkin pie mix
- 1 8oz container of cool whip
- 8oz of cream cheese
- 1 cup of powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon of pumpkin pie spice
- large mixing bowl
- Hand mixer or stand mixer
- Spatula
How to make pumpkin fluff
- Remove cream cheese from the fridge and allow it to reach room temperature.
- Place cream cheese in a large bowl.
- Add powdered sugar and mix until smooth and creamy.
- Add in pumpkin pie mix, cool whip, and pumpkin pie spice.
- Mix well until all combined. Scrape sides of the bowl with a spatula to ensure it is all incorporated.
- Chill for about an hour for the best results, but feel free to eat it right away too!

- If you want a milder pumpkin flavor in your pumpkin dip with cool whip you can omit the pumpkin spice mix.
- If you want your pumpkin fluff to be extra fluffy and creamy really mix it! I love to add it to my stand mixer and let it mix for a good five minutes. This is really the secret to a good pumpkin dip!
- If you don’t have pumpkin pie mix you can substitute it for pumpkin puree. If you do this, add the spices according to the package to create a pumpkin pie mix.
- If you want to turn this pumpkin pie dip into a pie, grab a graham cracker crust and add your pumpkin pie dip and top with some more cool whip. Yum!
