100 Days of School Color By Number

It feels like just yesterday we were prepping for the first day of school with our Back to School Color By Number pages and now we are 100 days in and celebrating with these 100 days of school coloring pages!

I know my kids love the 100th day of school because it reminds them of all that they’ve done so far in school. It’s also the perfect reminder that summer is just around the corner.

I know color by number activities are so fun for kids, but they are also a great way to keep learning and growing in the classroom or at home without it seeming like work. Kids practice everything from reading, to fine motor skills when they color these pages! Fun learning activities sound pretty great to me!

What Are The Benefits of Color By Number?

Here are the biggest benefits of color by number pages for your kids and students!

  • They can practice their reading skills! The names of the colors are written at the top of the page. They can learn the word associated with the color crayon they need to use.
  • They are able to learn their colors better. The flip side to the previous point is that kids are able to associate the color of their crayon to the letters that make up the word. Therefore they are not only reinforcing their reading skills but their color recognition too.
  • They are able to practice their number recognition as they color in each number.
  • They get the satisfaction of starting and finishing a task.
  • Learning to color in the lines is so good for kids! It really helps them develop their fine motor skills which is something they are going to need for the rest of their life!

How to make this more fun!

My kiddos love coloring in poster size pictures! They pull out their jumbo crayons and just go to town! When they’re done they will display their work in their room until the next poster is made!

Color by Number pages have been a lifesaver as I’ve run errands! They keep my kids distracted and content while I get some things done. I’ve found two awesome hacks to make sure my kids have fun and I don’t have any messes to clean up! The first is to laminate each page so that they can color the pictures over and over. We just have to pack a couple of coloring pages, and some wet, or dry erase markers!
The other hack has been in finding a continent and useful storage place for all their gear when we go out. We use these storage clipboards and they are amazing! My kids can keep everything inside and I don’t have to worry about a mess! It’s great for everyone!
