My family loves playing together – it inevitably gets us laughing and making memories together. I love how playing games with one another promotes connecting and conversation. All in all, it just makes our home so much happier as we spend quality time together.

My kids especially love bingo games! And they love it even more when we offer prizes for the winners (like no chores that weekend haha!).

How to Play Beach Bingo

Bingo is so easy to play, so if this is your first time playing, have no fear! You’ll catch on so quickly!

Start by downloading and printing the Beach Bingo game cards and calling cards. Then cut them out. A tip I’ve found to be handy, but is definitely not a necessity, is to laminate the cards once they’re printed. This allows them to last so much longer!

Mix up the calling cards and put them in a bowl. Choose someone to be the caller.

Hand out the bingo cards to everyone. At this time, also hand out whatever your players will be using to mark the spots. This is where you can get creative!

You can use

  • dry erase markers (this works well on laminated cards),
  • tokens or coins,
  • small candies
  • little seashells are perfect for the beach theme if you choose.

Once everyone has their beach bingo board and placeholders, the game can begin.

The caller will pull out a calling card and read what is on it. The players will search for the same word or symbol on their boards. If they find it, they will mark it with their placeholder.

The caller continues to call out new items from the calling cards they draw. Once a player gets five spots in a row marked (this could be vertically, horizontally, or diagonally!) they will shout “Bingo!” The player will list the objects that made up their bingo, checking them with the caller to make sure it is accurate. If it is, they win that round!

You can even give prizes for those who get bingo! This would definitely up the competition.

Bingo Prize Ideas

Some prize ideas could be

After a player gets bingo, you can keep playing or you can clear everyone’s board and start a new round. Every couple of rounds, you can have players swap their boards with each other to get new layouts and change things up. For this version of bingo, you will not want to play to blackout because most people will get it all at the same time.

Benefits of Bingo

I love bingo because it starts conversations within my family. We often spend more time chatting and reminiscing than actually playing! Especially with this Beach Bingo, we often talk about our favorite memories of being at the beach.

Bingo also helps your kids work on word recognition, fine motor skills, paying attention, and following instructions. There are so many benefits to playing games! I love that my kids can learn without even realizing it!
