How Do You Play Easter Charades?
Easter charades are so easy to play.
The first step is to split up into teams. I like to count off people so that there are no hurt feelings when someone is not picked first on someone’s team. You can even have everyone draw a number out of the bucket if you prefer.
If only a few people are playing or you want to play without competition you can just have one big group.
Once your teams are made you’re going to decide who is going to be the first actor. This role will switch off every time there is a new round.
You can decide who gets to act out the Easter charade clue first by doing something silly like who has the smallest feet or can stick their tongue out the furthest. Whatever your method, you’ll choose someone to be your actor first.
The actors will have 1 minute to act out as many of the words in the pile of Easter charade cards as they can. The number of cards your team guesses correctly is the number of points you get for that round. You can keep playing until you hit a certain point limit, or until you run out of cards.
REMEMBER: the actors cannot say or mouth any words! They can only silently mime the word on their card.
The team with the most points at the end of the game is the winner! If you want to give out prizes you can! Extra easter eggs filled with money or candy are always a hit in our house.

Things to Have On Hand For Easter Charades
- A timer or hourglass. I like setting it for 60 seconds per round, but you can decide what works best for your group.
- I’ve found that printing these charade cards on cardstock and or laminating allows us to use them over and over again!
Tips and Tricks for Playing Charades
- It really helps if the actor can communicate how many words they are trying to guess by holding up the number of words on their fingers.
- You can skip one card per round! If you think a card is going to take too long to act out or your team just isn’t getting what you are acting out it’s a good idea to just skip the card.
- Being an actor can be kind of intimidating at first, but just have fun with it! The more you embrace the fun the more you will enjoy playing.
- Something I always have to be reminded of when I play charades is not to guess for the other team! We have added blank Easter charade cards for you to be able to add your own Easter charades ideas as well.
