Grab our free Halloween Scavenger Hunt printable to light up your fall with outdoor fun! Perfect for families, parties, or a quiet Halloween evening.

Fall is hereβpumpkins are lighting up porches, leaves are crunching underfoot, and the excitement for Halloween is growing with every whisper of wind. One of my favorite ways to bring that magic home is with a Halloween Scavenger Huntβno fuss, full of fun, and perfect for families of all ages.
This year, Iβve refreshed our printable scavenger hunt and tweaked the post to make it easier for you to use and for Google to love. Grab your prints, bundle the kids, and letβs turn your neighborhood or backyard into a spooky treasure hunt!

Why I Love Halloween Scavenger Hunts
- Instant fun no matter the place β inside, outside, or around the block
- Encourages exploration β kids notice pumpkins, ghosts, and spider webs they mightβve missed
- Screen-free excitement β perfect for escape from devices
- Flexible & reusable β laminate it, use a dry-erase marker, and play again!
Scavenger hunts also sneak in observational skills, problem-solving, and teamwork. Trust meβwhen your child proudly spots βwitch broomβ or βskeleton,β youβll see their confidence shine.
Whatβs Included in the Printable
Hereβs a sampling of what youβll get:
- A list of 18 Halloween-themed items (e.g. ghost, skeleton, orange lights, witch hat, cauldron, vampire)
- A full-color design for easy spotting
- Tips to play with teams or solo
Youβll find the full list in your printable download below.

How to Host a Halloween Scavenger Hunt
- Print enough sheets for each player or team.
- Decide if players will hunt solo or in pairs (great for younger kids).
- Hand out the lists and head outside or roam your yard/neighborhood.
- Check items off as theyβre found.
- The player or team with the most finds wins a small prize (candy, a glow stick, or first pick of Halloween movie!).
Tip: Use cardstock or laminate so sheets last for multiple years.

Adjustments for Different Ages
- Younger kids: Partner them with an adult, read the list aloud, or let them βhuntβ from a window.
- Older kids: Time their hunt, add bonus points for Halloween trivia, or make it a photo scavenger challenge.
- Mixed groups: Use categories like βeasy findsβ vs βchallenge findsβ to keep everyone engaged.
