Halloween Minute to win it games are simple, short games that you can play with items you probably already have in your house or that are easy to purchase. They typically involve accomplishing some sort of seemingly simple feat, like getting a cookie from your forehead to your mouth without using your hands that may be a little harder than you think!

I love Halloween Minute to Win it because the games are super easy to put together and play. I also love how people of any age can participate and it’s great for all types of groups!
Most of the games are easy to modify to accommodate younger children and their abilities. These games also teach my kids perseverance as they keep trying to succeed at some of the more difficult tasks!
How to Play Halloween Minute to Win It Games
There are a few different ways to play these minute to win it games for Halloween. Some of them work best as teams, and some are best done individually.
Players collect points for each game that they win. You can choose whether to only award points to the player who did the best at each game, or to give points to any player who successfully completed the task within one minute. When everyone has played all the games, a prize can be awarded for the person who has collected the most points!

Halloween Minute to Win It Games
Cookie Face-off
You will need:
- Halloween cookies, such as Oreos
How to Play: Place a Halloween cookie on each player’s forehead. Players have one minute to get the cookie into their mouth WITHOUT using their hands. The winner is the person who does it the fastest within the time frame or gets the most cookies in their mouth within the 1 minute time frame.
Spider Race
You will need
- Plastic spiders
- Drinking straws
- A large flat surface
How to play: Players place the spiders at the starting line. They have one minute to use the drinking straws to blow their spider across the finish line! The finish line and starting line should be at least 10 feet apart.
Candy Transfer
You will need:
- Drinking straws
- Paper plates
- Small round candy such as M&M’s, Skittles, or Reesee’s Pieces
How to play: Give each player a drinking straw and place two plates in front of them – one empty and one full of candy. Players have one minute to use suction power to move candy one piece at a time to the empty plate with their straw. The player who has moved the most candy after one minute wins.
Sticker Tricker
You will need:
- At least 60 chocolate kisses
- 20 Small Halloween stickers
How to Play: On a table or large tray, place at least 60 chocolate kisses, pointy end facing up. Place Halloween stickers on the bottom of about 20 chocolate kisses, making sure they cannot be seen once they are placed down. Mix up all the kisses well, and make sure they all stay upright! This is a face-off game for 2-4 players at a time.
On a signal, players will turn over kisses trying to find a sticker. They may only turn over one kiss at a time. If there is no sticker on the bottom, the kiss is placed back on the table or tray, bottom side down. If there IS a sticker, the player must unwrap and eat the kiss. They cannot resume searching until they have eaten the chocolate completely. Save the wrappers, because the player who has eaten the most kisses at the end of a minute is the winner!
Vampire Bite
You will need:
- Plastic vampire teeth – one for each player
- mini marshmallows or gummy Halloween candies
- Small bowl, cauldron, or pumpkin bucket
How to Play: Each player places the vampire teeth in their mouth and then uses their mouth to pick up as many marshmallows or candies as they can and move them into the bowl. The most candies in the bowl at the end of a minute wins!
Grave Digger
You will need:
- Enough bowls for each player
- Chocolate cereal or crushed oreos
- Plastic spoons
- Candy “body parts” like chocolate eyeballs or gummy fingers
How to play: Place a bowl full of chocolate cereal or crushed Oreos in front of each player, with various candy body parts hidden in the “dirt.” Each player must hold the end of a spoon in their mouth and dig out the body parts! Whoever finds the most in one minute wins!
Pumpkin Stem Ring Toss
You will need:
- About 6 small pumpkins with long stems
- Diving rings or large rings fashioned from pipe cleaners
How to play: Arrange the pumpkins in any way you like on the ground. A triangle shape is good. Players stand about 6 feet away from the pumpkins and toss their rings, trying to hook them to the pumpkin stems. The person who has the most rings that have landed on pumpkin stems in one minute is the winner.
Candy Corn Cauldron Toss
You will need:
- At least 6 small plastic cauldrons
- Candy corn
How to play: Arrange the cauldrons on the floor close together. Players will stand 3-6 feet away and try to toss candy corn into the cauldrons. You can assign point values to each cauldron or simply count up the number of candy corn in the cauldrons at the end of one minute.
Make a Mummy
You will need:
- One roll of toilet paper for each team of 2
How to play: Players are divided into teams of two. Each team is given one roll of toilet paper and they have one minute to wrap one partner up like a mummy! The team that has used the most toilet paper and has the best looking mummy wins.
Gummy Worm Pickup
You will need:
- Gummy worms
- Chopsticks or small plastic tongs (for younger kids)
How to play: Spread gummy worms out on a table, or pile them together on a plate. Players must pick up one worm at a time with the chopsticks or tongs (no hands!) and transfer them to a bowl. The most worms transferred after one minute wins!
Pumpkin Race
You will need:
- Mini pumpkins (real or fake, it doesn’t matter)
- Starting line and finish line
How to play: Each player is given a mini pumpkin to place on their head, then they must race from the starting line to the finish line without dropping the pumpkin or touching it with their hands! If they drop the pumpkin they must return to the start line and begin again. First one to the finish line without dropping their pumpkin wins!
Ghost Stacker
You will need:
- 10 plastic cups with ghost faces drawn on (works best on clear or white cups)
- A table or other flat surface
How to play: Players will stack all 10 cups into a pyramid and then take them down again. Fastest wins!
Witch Finger Spider Pickup
You will need:
- Plastic Spider Rings
- Plastic witch fingers that can be placed over your real fingers
- Small bowls or plastic cauldrons
How to play: Players will each be given two witch fingers to place on their thumb and first finger. Plastic spider rings are spread out on the table. Players are given one minute to use their witch fingers (and only those fingers!) to pick up one spider ring at a time and place it in their bowl or cauldron. Whoever has the most after one minute wins!
Save the Balloons
You will need:
- 2-3 inflated balloons of the same color for each player
- A large playing area
How to play: Each player is given 2-3 balloons that are all the same color. For younger kids, stick with two, for older kids and adults, three is a fun challenge. On a signal, everyone throws their balloons into the air and must keep all of their balloons from touching the ground for one minute! Last player standing wins.
Spider Web Toss
You will need:
- Cotton spider webbing stretched out and hung on a wall
- Plastic spiders
How to play: Players are given a container of plastic spiders and stand about 6 feet away from the spider web. At the signal, they begin tossing their spiders at the web. The most spiders still stuck to the web after one minute wins!
Banish the Ghosts
You will need:
- 10 ping pong balls (these are the ghosts)
- 10 plastic cups
- Witch’s wand – can use a stick, a ruler, or a chopstick
- Pair of pantyhose, a long scarf, or ribbon, at least 6 feet long
How to play: Place the cups upside down in a line, about 6 inches apart. Place a ping pong ball ghosts on top of each cup. Tie the witch’s wand to one end of your pantyhose, scarf, or ribbon, and tie the other end around the player’s waist. Players have one minute to knock all the ghosts off the cups with the wand, without using their hands to help!
Find the Eyeballs
You will need:
- Bowl of cooked spaghetti
- 10-15 peeled grapes
- Cardboard box large enough to fit the bowl of spaghetti
How to play: Mix the peeled grapes into the bowl of spaghetti. Place the bowl inside the cardboard box and cut a hole in the side large enough for a hand to fit through. Players will sit behind the box, put their hand through the hole, and try to remove all the “eyeballs” from the bowl in one minute!
Costume Race
You will need:
- Pair of oven mitts
- Various costume items that will fit all players, such as a vest, a large cloak, a hat, silly glasses or a mask, a clown wig, a tutu or grass skirt, etc.
How to play: Players must put on the oven mitts and then dress themselves in all the costume items. They have one minute to get dressed! The team that puts the most items on the fastest wins.
Cauldron Roll
You will need:
- Small plastic cauldrons, one for each player
- A large flat playing area.
How to play: Players must roll their cauldron from one side of the room to the other (or from start line to finish line) using only their nose! The team that does this the fastest wins!
Halloween Minute to Win it Games for Adults
Pumpkin Catch
You will need:
- Small orange pom poms
- Small plastic cauldrons
How to play: This is a team game! One team member has a cauldron full of orange pom poms (pumpkins), the other an empty cauldron. The player with the empty cauldron kneels down in front of their partner, facing away from them and holding the cauldron in front of them. The standing player tosses pumpkin pom poms over their partner’s head, and they try to catch it in their cauldron. The team with the most “pumpkins” in the cauldron at the end of one minute wins!
Shake Dem Bones
You will need:
- 5-10 paper bags
- Enough identical Halloween candies to place a different number in each bag
How to Play: Prepare the game by placing one candy in the first bag, two in the second, three in the third and so on until all the bags are filled. Staple the tops of the bags closed so no one can peek. Players have one minute to shake each bag and then arrange the bags in order from least candies to most candies. The winner is the person who has arranged the bags of “bones” most accurately!
Stacking Candy Corn
You will need:
- Candy corn
- A flat playing surface
How to play: Each player is given a large bowl of candy corn. They get to create a circular base with the candy corn, arranging them in a circle with all the points facing in and touching each other. On a signal, players continue to stack the candy corn in a circle. The largest stack after one minute wins!
Puzzle Race
You will need:
- Small Halloween themed puzzles, one for each team. You can also use Halloween pictures printed on cardstock and cut apart into puzzle pieces
How to Play: On a signal, teams of players or individuals attempt to assemble their puzzle. They have one minute! A player has won if they are the first to complete their puzzle or they are the closest to completion after one minute.
Pumpkins on a Gate
You will need:
- Popsicle or craft sticks
- Small pumpkin candies
How to Play: Each player is given a popsicle or craft stick and 5 pumpkin candies. Players place one end of the stick in their mouths and have one minute to balance all 5 pumpkins in a line on their stick. Pumpkins must stay put for at least 5 seconds.
