Murder In The Dark

How to Play
Murder in the dark is a must-play game for any teen Halloween party! Players will draw a piece of paper out of a bowl. You will want to play this with 6 or more players. You will want to have a moderator as well. Grab a deck of cards and grab 1 King (who will be the murderer), 1 Q (who will be the detective), and a numbered card for all the other players. So if 10 people are playing you will need 10 total cards. The non face cards are bystanders or common people. If you a larder group is playing you can have more than 1 detective and more than 1 murderer.
Shuffle the cards and pass them out. Be sure to keep them hidden.
Turn off the lights and then the game begins. Everyone closes their eyes and then the moderator will have the murderer wake up. They can either point to the person they want dead and the moderator nods that they understand or the murder goes and taps them. He then will go to sleep.
The detective will then wake up trying to figure out who is the murderer is. They will point to one person and the moderator will then shake their head yes or no. They will go to sleep.
The moderator will then wake everyone up and announce who died in the middle of the night. (This person is now out) There is a discussion with everyone who they think the murderer is and then they vote on who they think it is. Everyone that is still alive votes to kill one person and then that person’s identity is announced. If it is the murderer, the game is over and the citizens and detective win. If they are not, then everyone goes to sleep and another round is played.
The game ends when the murderer is found or if the murderer kills off everyone before being found. It is all about deception and fun with this game!
The Undead Race
What You Will Need
- Space for the game to take place.
How to Play
In the undead race, one guest is picked to be the head zombie, and the other players start on the floor (as if they are dead). The goal is to get to a standing position without being seen by the head zombie. Players can only move when the zombie’s back is turned; you are out if they catch you moving! The first player to get to a full-standing position is the winner!
Pumpkin Bocce
What You Will Need
- Several large pumpkins
- Small pumpkins
- Marker
- Tape for the starting line
How to Play
Pumpkin Bocce is like a traditional bocce ball game but with a fun Halloween twist! Position several large pumpkins several feet away from the starting line. Players will be given small pumpkins to roll toward the larger pumpkins. The player who gets their small pumpkins closest to the larger ones without going past them wins! Use a sharpie or other marker to write players’ names on the small pumpkins.
Costume Relay Race

Teams will race to put on an old Halloween costume and run to the end of the room and back, tagging the next person on their team to start putting on a costume and race across the room and back. Left and Right Halloween

How to Play
Find or prewrite a short Halloween left or right story. The teens will then all sit in a circle and give one of them a candy bar at the beginning of the story. Every time the words right or left are said, the candy bar is passed in that direction. The winner of the candy bar is the one who is holding it at the end of the story.
Drop the Candy Corn!

How to Play
In drop the Candy corn, players will sit or kneel on a chair and will have one minute to see how many candy corns they can drop into a glass or bowl sitting at their feet. The catch? Players must stay on the chair and can only use their mouths to drop the candy corn into the glass or bowl. The player with the most candy corn in their bowl or glass is the winner!

How to Play
Unwrap the candy is similar to our Christmas Saran Wrap Game. You will wnat to wrap up small Halloween candies in various levels of a ball of saran wrap. Players will need to sit in a circle for this game.
To get started, the ball of candy is given to a player, and the pair of dice are given to the player to their left. Game play starts with the player holding the ball and trying to unwrap the saran wrap to get to the candy. The player with the dice rolls until they get doubles. The ball and dice are then passed to the left, and play continues until all the candy has been unwrapped. Players get to keep the candy they unwrap.
Apple Race

- Tape to make the starting and finish line
How to Play
Teams will race to see who can get their apple across the finish line first. The catch is that players can only use their noses to get the apple across the floor to the finish line. You can play individually or as a relay race.
Mummy Race

- Tape or string for the start and finish line
- Ace wrap or similar to wrap players’ legs together.
How to Play
Mummy race is a fun twist on the three-legged race. Wrap the legs of two players together like a mummy. The players must then race together to the first across the finish line!
Eyeball Toss

- Ping pong balls

How to Play
In eyeball toss, teens will love to toss “eyeballs” into cups to see who can make the most baskets. Create baskets by attaching shot glasses to a display board and create eyeballs by using ping pong balls and eyeball pictures. Glue the eye pictures to the ping pong balls to create the eyeballs. Have the teens stand a few feet back from the board and attempt to shoot the eyeballs into the shot glasses.
Spook Walk

How to Play
Apple Picking is a fun game that everyone will want to play! You will want to get several red apples and one green apple. Tie strings to the apples, hanging all the red apples and one green apple to a tree branch or a pole. Blindfold the player before they come out, guide them to the hanging apples, and have them try and pick the green apple. If they guess correctly, they win the apple or another prize. Rearrange the apples and add a new green apple if necessary for the next player.
Ghost In The Graveyard

How to Play
Ghost in the graveyard is a fun game played at night that my teens love! The “ghost” or person who is “it” goes and hides, the other players then try to find the ghost. The first person to find the ghost yells “ghost in the graveyard” alerting the other players that the ghost has been found. The person who found the ghost is safe, but the other players need to race back to home base before they are tagged. If a player is tagged they will be the ghost in the next round.

- Small or large pumpkins

How to Play

Don’t Drop The Apple!

How to Play
In don’t drop the apple, teams will see who can pass the apple down the line without using their hands! At the word GO!, the first member of each team tucks an apple under their chin and then turns and passes the apple under the chin of the next player. Teams see who can get their apple through all their players first without dropping the apple. If the apple is dropped it must go back the beginning.
Halloween Checkers

- Mini pumpkins or pumpkin candy corn
- Poster board or construction paper squares
How to Play
In Halloween checkers, you will create your own giant checkerboard with mini pumpkins or pumpkin candy corn as markers. Using a poster board, draw a checkerboard, set up the checker pieces of your choice, and teens and will have fun all night long!
