Tips Tricks and FAQs
- How long you marinate your steak will depend a lot on the thickness of the steak and the quality of the steak. For a less expensive or thicker cut of meat, you’ll want to marinate it a bit longer so that it can tenderize. For a high-quality or thin cut of meat, you could marinate for about an hour with great results.
- You can use full sodium soy sauce, but it can get a bit salty! If regular soy sauce is what you have on hand, you may want to decrease the steak seasoning by about half.
- There’s some great steak seasoning out there but we absolutely love the McCormick Montreal Steak Seasoning. I put it on everything! It is so good and pairs perfectly with the other flavors in this marinade.
Storage
Store any leftover steak in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 4 days. You may want to reserve some of this marinade before adding it to your steak so you can add some while reheating. It’ll keep it fresh and juicy!
How Do I Choose the Best Steak?
You don’t always need an expensive cut of meat, especially with a marinade. But knowing a little bit about different steaks can be helpful when choosing!
Depending on the fattiness, tenderness, and price point you are looking for, you’ll likely have your own favorites. We usually like to grab sirloin steak because it is tender and juicy without being too expensive!
