Tips and Tricks to make Pink Hot Chocolate
- You want to make sure that you do not cook your white hot chocolate at a high temperature. White hot chocolate melts at such a low temperature. Around 98 degrees F. So you want to get the milk just hot enough to melt the white chocolate. You do not want to scald the milk because it changes the texture.
- This recipe can be easily halved, doubled, tripled, or quadruped. So, feel free to make a small batch or enough to serve it at your next party!
- To help the white chocolate chips melt you want to make sure you stir it on occasion as it cooks.
- Use good white chocolate! Because this recipe is so simple all the ingredients shine through so it is so important to use good quality chocolate. I love to use these white chocolate chips.
What kind of milk do I use for this recipe
In this recipe, I use whole milk, but really you can use any kind of milk you have on hand. If you want a “healthier white hot chocolate” use 2% or skim.
If you want it to be really creamy you can add half and half or even heavy cream to make it so creamy.
Find what milk you like and go with that.
You could even use soy milk or almond milk if desired.
Heating Milk for hot chocolate
When you are heating milk for hot chocolate you want to do it on the stove and on a lower setting. This allows the milk to heat up slowly and not become scalded.
Heating milk in the microwave tends to scald milk quickly.
How to make chocolate pink
Everyone always asks with this recipe how do you make the hot chocolate pink. The answer is simple, food coloring. When making chocolate pink you want to melt the chocolate to a smooth consistency. Once at this consistency you will want to add the pink food coloring. I love to use the gel food coloring for this recipe.
How to keep your hot chocolate warm?
If you are trying to keep your hot chocolate warm you can set your burner to simmer as long as you stir it on occasion so it does not burn on the bottom, but I love to move it to the crockpot and keep it on the warm setting.
How to make hot chocolate in the crockpot?
This recipe is easily adaptable to the crockpot.
First, you will want to add all the ingredients to the crockpot and cover with the lid.
Place the setting on low for about 2 hours. You will want to stir this occasionally.
Once the white chocolate chips are melted then you are ready to serve and enjoy!

Can I serve white hot chocolate for other holidays?
