Tips and tricks for homemade Chex mix
- I love the combination of pretzels, goldfish, and Chex cereal, but you can use any combination of your favorite snack pieces. Try adding in your favorite nuts, crackers, or cereals and see how it tastes. Get creative and see what mixes you like the best! Make sure you let us know in the comments which combo is your family’s favorite.
- This is such a great gift to give out to friends and family members. It’s easy to make in big batches and everyone loves it! I always keep some treat bags on hand so that when I make some of this air fryer Chex mix I can easily scoop some up, tie it in a bag, and hand it out for birthday gifts, thinking of you gifts, or party favors.
- This makes a great party snack! Save a trip to the store before a game-night or kids party and make up a big batch of this air fryer Chex mix recipe instead. I always make it the day before so it has plenty of time to cool and I don’t have to worry about it while prepping for the party.
How do I store air fryer Chex mix?
Since your homemade Chex mix doesn’t come in a nice bag like when you buy it at the store, you’ll want to have your own airtight method to store it!
It can be kept at room temperature in any air tight container. I’m loving Wildone storage containers for my pantry that keep my snacks and other foods nice and fresh. Plus they are a great inexpensive way to keep your pantry looking organized.
If kept at room temperature in an airtight container, this air fryer Chex mix recipe will last about 3-4 weeks!
Is it cheaper to make your own Chex mix?
It sure is! If you have some Chex Mix lovers in your home, this is a great way to save a little bit with a favorite snack.
But the reason my family loves this recipe is because it tastes even better than store-bought Chex mix and we can make our own special combination of snacks. My kids love mixing the big bowl full of yummy snacks whenever I make this!
Cheaper and more delicious.. A win-win!
