Family Feud is a fantastic game show that’s been around for ages. I remember watching it growing up as a kid. Does anyone else remember?!
It’s all about two teams competing to guess the most popular answers to various questions. While the show has featured celebrities in recent years, the real magic happens with everyday families going head-to-head. I remember bonding with my own family, watching Family Feud together, and trying to guess the most popular answers!
We love the Halloween twist to Family Feud that you will find below! Imagine your family guessing answers to spooky, fun Halloween-themed questions. It’s a great way to get everyone involved, laughing, and enjoying some quality time together.
In the show, the team with the most points at the end wins cash and gets a shot at even more in the fast money round. At home, you can keep it simple with fun rewards or just enjoy the bragging rights!

How to Play Family Feud
If you have ever watched Family Feud you play at home pretty much the same way! You will have the face off rounds, the rapid fire round for the team that gets the most points. Below, you will learn in detail how to play each round.
Set up
- Choose one person to be the host who will read the questions and keep score.
- Have the host cut the game boards. Have them keep one copy of each round hidden so no one can see it. With the other board (reveal board/ scoreboard), have the host cover up the scoreboard so that the covers can easily be removed. If there are only 6 answers on the board, be sure to only cover up the six spots.
- Divide everyone else who is playing into two teams. It is best if the teams have an equal number of players, but it is okay if they do not.
Face Off Round
- The first player from each team comes forward to the face-off area.
- The host reads the first question out loud so both teams can hear it. The first player to hit the buzzer or raises their hand will give the first answer. The second player will be given a chance to answer if the first player does not give the number one ranked answer.
- The player that get the highest ranked answer on the revealed card will be in control to choose whether they keep control or pass the category to the other team.
- If they choose to keep control of the category, the host then moves to the next player on the team and asks the same question. They will then answer it within 10 seconds. The host will reveal the answer on the scoreboard if it is there. If they cannot answer it within the 10 seconds, or the response is not on the board, they get a strike and will move to the next member of the team.
- The next team member is then asked the same question.
- If the team reveals all the answers, they will get all the points, which are recorded on the scorecard.
- If the team gets three strikes, the other team has a chance to steal. The other team will get one answer (the first answer that is announced out loud to host); if it is on the board, they steal all the points that have been revealed in that category. If it is not on the board, then the first team will keep all the points that have been revealed.
- Round 2 is played the same as round one, but the second member of the team comes up for the face-off.
- Play 4 rounds, and the team with the most points moves on to the rapid fire money round.
Rapid Fire Round
- In the Rapid fire round, two members of the winning team each answer five survey questions, one at a time.
- First Player: The first player is asked five survey questions and has 20 seconds to answer. The goal is to give the most popular answers. Their answers are recorded and revealed, along with the points for each answer based on how many people in the survey gave the same response.
- Second Player: The second player, who has been in a different area so they can’t hear the first player’s answers, is brought out. They answer the same five questions but have 25 seconds. If they give the same answer as the first player, the host will make a buzzing sound, and they will have to give a different answer.
- Scoring: The points from both players’ answers are combined. If the total reaches 200 points or more, the team wins the grand prize or bragging rights! If they don’t reach 200 points, they win a smaller prize based on their points.
