Any time my family has a quiet afternoon at home, you can be sure we will pull out Trivia Games! My kids love a bit of competition and search for topics they think will stump their siblings.

My daughter (the youngest of the bunch) always picks Fairy Tale Trivia because she thinks her brothers know nothing about princesses. My sons love picking topics like Funny Trivia Questions for Kids and National Park Trivia. No matter who chooses, we’re always in for a fun time when we play trivia!

Why I Love Trivia Games

These days, my family is always spread out to different activities. When we do get a rare moment together, it’s usually to eat a quick meal. Trivia games are perfect for these times!

Because there is no prep work involved with trivia games, I can easily pull out a few questions at the dinner table. All I have to do is pull up the list or grab the trivia question lists!

When I pull out the trivia questions, my kids are more likely to linger at the table. Their phones stay put away, and we are all invested in finding out the answers to the trivia questions.

The shared learning experience bonds us together. When there is a particularly interesting fact, like how horses can’t breathe through their mouths, my kids can be overheard discussing it even days later!

How To Play Horse Trivia

My favorite way to play trivia with my kids is to ask them a few questions in the car or at the dinner table. We don’t keep score, but everyone enjoys learning a new fact!

To have a trivia game night, all you need is a list of questions, a way to keep score, and players! Trivia is perfect for groups of any size and skill level.

Divide your players into teams and pick someone to read the first question. The job of the reader will rotate between all teams to keep it fair.

To keep the score, a point is awarded to the first team to answer the question correctly. When all of the questions have been read, the team with the most points wins!

  • Competition can be healthy when players are respectful.
  • Kids learn how to support other players whether they win or lose.
  • Trivia is fun for everyone! It doesn’t matter how much you know because you work as a team. Each person brings their own strengths to the game!
