Holidays are such a fun time! You get to gather as a family and spend time together, and games are one of our favorite ways to do that. This list huge list of St. Patrick’s Day Games is perfect for sparking some inspiration for fun games to play together this holiday season.
There are so many games out there for any given holiday, and St. Patrick’s Day is no different. I love adding new games to our family’s collection every year. We love a themed game and holidays are a great way to add those to our games rotation.
There is something so fun about St. Patrick’s day, with the green and gold and shamrocks. But sometimes it feels like St. Patrick’s Day doesn’t have a lot of activities that the whole family can be a part of. That couldn’t be farther from the truth! There are so many fun St. Patrick’s Day games that I know your family will love.
Why We Love Games
There are so many reasons we love playing games in our home.
First of all, we can add a game to match whatever fun holiday or season we are in. That’s why this list of St. Patrick’s Day games is perfect! We love a themed game and holidays are a great way to add to the fun holiday excitement.
Games teach our kids so much in a super fun way. Kids learn to take turns, wait their turn, avoid interrupting, and being a good team player. They also learn some frustration tolerance and emotional regulation if the game isn’t going their way, and how to be a good winner or loser. So many lessons are learned through game play.
And speaking of lessons, games can add in sneaky educational opportunities! Often games will require reading or image recognition, communication or even math concepts. This helps kids practice their language or math skills. Playing with cards or little markers is also great fine motor practice for kids of all ages!
Most importantly, though, your family is going to spend more time together when you’re playing games. You will spend your time laughing and playing with each other, building bonds with each other and creating new, fun memories. Games are the perfect addition to your family time.

One person from each team will try to throw as many gold coins into the pot as they can in 1 minute, counting how many go in as they go. Whoever gets the most coins in the pot in a minute wins.
Cup of Green
Grab a cup of skittles and a pair of chopsticks for each player. Players will sort through the skittles and grab only the green skittles from the cup. The catch is that they can only use the chopsticks! No hands can touch the cups or skittles. The player with the most green skittles in their cup at the end wins.
Lucky Charms Stack
Using chopsticks, stack Lucky Charms cereal as tall as you can in a minute. If your tower falls, start over and try to catch up in the minute! A great way to encourage family members through struggles and incredible fine motor practice.
Sucking Skittles
Players move skittles from one cup into a different cup by sucking them up with a straw. Players can only touch the straw, not the skittles or the cup. The player with the most skittles in their cup at the end of 1 minute wins.
