We love Valentine’s Day in our house! The day always starts out with a cute Valentine’s Day breakfast which usually includes our best pancakes or our funfetti pancakes to celebrate the day of love.

Then sometimes the kids get a small treat of some sort and then off to school they go, usually with a cute Valentine to give their class! Oh, how I love the day of love!

Once the kids get home I usually greet them with our Valentine’s Day Hot Chocolate or White Chocolate Hot Chocolate and talk about the day.

Followed by a family Valentine’s Day dinner because who really goes out on Valentine’s Day?

I really do love Valentine’s Day… To me, it’s not about the flowers, and the candy (although both are good…) It is about spending time and celebrating with the ones you love!

So party on this Valentine’s Day with this awesome Pink Hot Chocolate!

Tips and Tricks to make Pink Hot Chocolate

This quick and easy Valentine’s Day Hot Chocolate is a family favorite. Just a few simple ingredients make this white hot chocolate perfectly delicious for Valentine’s Day!

  1. You want to make sure that you do not cook your white hot chocolate at a high temperature. This is because white hot chocolate melts at such a low temperature. Around 98 degrees F. So you want to get the milk just hot enough to melt the white chocolate. You do not want to scald the milk because it changes the texture.
  2. This recipe for pink hot chocolate can be easily halved, doubled, tripled, or quadruped. So, feel free to make a small batch just for a small glass or to serve it at your next party!
  3. To help the white chocolate chips melt you want to make sure you stir it on occasion as it cooks.
  4. Use good white chocolate! Because this recipe is so simple all the ingredients shine through so it is so important to use good quality chocolate. I love to use these white chocolate chips.

What kind of milk do I use for Valentine’s Day Hot Chocolate?

In this recipe, I use whole milk, but really you can use any kind of milk you have on hand. If you want a “healthier white hot chocolate” use 2% or skim.

If you want it to be really creamy you can add half and half or even heavy cream to make it so creamy.

Find what milk you like and go with that.

You could even use soy milk or almond milk if desired.

How to keep Pink Hot Chocolate warm?

If you are trying to keep your pink hot chocolate warm you can set your burner to simmer as long as you stir it on occasion so it does not burn on the bottom, but I love to move it to the crockpot and keep it on the warm setting.

How to make Pink Hot Chocolate in the crockpot

This recipe is easily adaptable to the crockpot.

First, you will want to add all the ingredients to the crockpot and cover with the lid.

Place the setting on low for about 2 hours. You will want to serve this occasionally.

Once the white chocolate chips are melted then you are ready to serve and enjoy!
