If I could live among the Oompa Loompas and eat chocolate all day, I would! As someone who loves Trivia Games and has a major sweet tooth, Candy Trivia is right up my alley!

My family agrees! They love to play trivia games like Food Trivia Questions for Kids and pretend to be culinary geniuses. We like to pair it with a fun cooking competition for the whole family.

My kids love Animal Trivia too. Sometimes we switch things up and have teams pick an animal sound (like “moo” or “ruff”) to shout instead of raising their hands to answer the questions.

No matter which topic we choose, trivia is always entertaining for the whole family. It’s perfect for all ages, which makes it the ultimate family game!

Why I Love Trivia Games

In my house, we have teenagers down to toddlers. You can imagine how hard it is to find an activity that appeals to such a wide age range. Trivia games are ideal for my family because they’re an activity that everyone can participate in!

I love that there is no prep work involved with trivia. As a busy mom, I don’t have a ton of spare time to put together elaborate activities. Trivia games are excellent because they are educational, quick to put together, and a great source of amusement!

My favorite time to play trivia is in the car. It seems like we’re always driving from one activity or another. I like to have a few trivia questions ready so that my kids don’t get sucked onto their phones. Instead, the trivia questions serve as a launch pad for deeper discussions about a variety of topics!

My kids always end up going on tangents, but I love hearing their thoughts. We usually end up laughing at where the conversation leads!

How To Play Trivia

Trivia is so simple to prepare! All you need is a list of questions and answers, like the Candy Trivia Questions below, and a way to keep score! You can play with any number of people of all ages.

When everyone is ready to play, decide how the teams will be split up. You could do boys vs. girls, couples, parents vs. kids, or even as individuals.

Choose one player to read the first question. Whichever team is the first to raise their hand and answer the question correctly, wins the point.

When all of the questions have been read, the game is over. Whichever team has the most points, wins!

Benefits Of Trivia Games

There are so many benefits to playing candy trivia!

  • Conversations flow freely when you are having fun! For parents who struggle with getting their kids to talk, trivia games are the perfect setting to hear what’s going on in your kids’ lives.
  • Families have fun together making memories.
  • Trivia teaches facts in an exciting way.
  • Kids learn how to be good team players and support each other.
  • Older kids can mentor their younger siblings and help them learn how to play the game.

Tips and Tricks for Trivia Fun

Trivia is a simple game, but there are a few tricks to make it extra fun!

  • Have a buzzer for teams to chime in with the correct answer.
  • Make it a themed family night by coordinating dinner and activities with the trivia topic.
  • Offer a small prize for the winner, like candy or a gift card to the movies.
  • Prepare ahead of time by getting plenty of rest. It will be much easier to remember answers when you’re not sleepy.
  • Make a habit of reading. You’d be surprised at how many facts you learn from every book you read, even fiction ones!

You don’t have to give a prize, but a sugary treat would be a great choice for this Candy Trivia game!
