  • I am going to say it again because it is that important, be sure to lay your pickles on a paper towel prior to dipping them in the flour mixture. This helps the coating to stick.
  • You want to use hamburger pre-sliced pickles for these Texas Roadhouse copycat air fryer pickles. They are all about the same size and thickness which makes them cook evenly. You can cook spears, but you will need to cook them longer, and you can’t fit as many in the air fryer.
  • Be sure your pickles are not touching in the air fryer. If they are touching this causes soggy spots on the fried pickles.
  • You can change the spiciness of these fried pickles so easily. Just add more cayenne pepper to the flour mixture for more spice. To make them less spicy cut the cayenne pepper in half.
  • To ensure your pickles are as crispy as they can be, set your air fryer at the highest temperature, 400 degrees.
  • You can easily make these gluten-free air frier pickles by ensuring that your flour is gluten-free.

What sauces should I dip my fried pickles in?

There are so many dipping sauce choices for fried pickles. I love dipping my pickles in

  • Ranch
  • BBQ Ranch
  • Southwest Ranch
  • Blue Cheese
  • Campfire sauce
  • Zesty Horseradish

Storage

Fridge

I do not recommend keeping leftover air fryer pickles. These will become soggy, but if you do feel like saving them, place them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 1-2 days.

Serve cold or warm up in the microwave.

Freezer

If you want to make a big batch of air fry pickles to make later you can absolutely store them in the freezer! Grab a tray and place a piece of parchment paper on it. Then go ahead and follow the recipe all the way up to the point of cooking them.

Place the pickles on the tray so they are not touching and place in the freezer. Allow them to freeze and then place them in an airtight container or freezer bag.

When you are ready to make fried pickles remove the desired amount, brush with olive oil and cook as directed.

  1. I love fried pickles! I’m excited to try out your recipe, I tried a different recipe a while back but they didn’t turn out how I had expected, i’m thinking I might of not coated them enough or put enough olive oil hoping it works this time around. Thanks for sharing!
