Why I Love Scavenger Hunts for Kids
There are so many great benefits of scavenger hunts!
- They are great boredom-busters! They get your kids to leave their screens and explore the world around them.
- They encourage your kids to exercise their problem-solving skills as they look for each item on their list.
- They are a great activity for any age! You’ll love how your family works together and practices teamwork.
How To Do An Airport Scavenger Hunt
It’s so easy to start an Airport Scavenger Hunt! All you need is our airport scavenger hunt printable for each player or team, and you are ready to go!
First, decide whether you will play individually, in pairs, or in teams. Give each person, pair, or team a copy of the Airport Scavenger Hunt list.
Look around the airport for the items on your list. You shouldn’t have to go far to find most of the items on your list!
As you find each item, check it off. The person or team with the most items found wins!
How To Adjust Scavenger Hunts for Different Ages
Because the airport is a public place, you will want to set boundaries and make sure that young children stay within your sight and partner with an adult as they hunt for items on their list.
Help them as needed with reading and understanding the instructions, but let them do the finding. You’ll be impressed by their observation skills!
Your teens might be resistant to playing at first, but they can probably be persuaded with a little competition!
Make it a race to see who can complete their list first, or offer a prize for the winner. Of course, playing with them offers you a chance to have some fun and bond together.

What a great idea!!! When I was a teacher, I used scavenger hunts all the time. A recent scavenger hunt that I do with my son: I bought him a book of bird sounds and we look for the different bird species in our local park.
