Be Who You Needed When You Were Younger

It’s so easy as parents for us to get wrapped up in the day to day things that we have to do. It is easy for us to forget what we wanted most as a kid. For me, it was time with my family. I loved Friday nights growing up because we would always have Friday night game nights and late night Taco Bell runs. Now that I am a parent I love 9pm because it’s bedtime, but I need to do a better job of being what I needed most as a kid, which was late nights bonding with my family! What did you need as a kid that you can give your kids now?

  1. This is such a great reminder to all parents. It’s so easy to get caught up in the hussle and bustle of each day and I am quilty of it too. We can all strive to be better in casting aside to-do’s and investing that time in our kids. We all know how fast time goes and quality time with them at any age really, is so important. One thing I never compromise on is sitting down at night together, at the table, to eat dinner. No matter how busy we are or what is going on we take that time together each evening. It is so important.

    1. I love your thoughts on this! We too never compromise family dinner even if it means we are eating at 7:30 at night. Those moments are so precious! Thanks for sharing!
