Mixed Fruit Berry Recipe

Is it warm where you are at? We have been loving afternoon smoothies by the pool lately! We have been enjoying our healthy strawberry smoothie and our tropical smoothie.

Today I was feeling like something a little more tart and delicious so I decided a mixed berry smoothie was in order!

One of my favorite things about the mixed berry smoothie is that you can use any combination of berries to make this smoothie. I usually throw in some strawberries that need to be eaten with a variety of other frozen berries to make a delicious treat every single time.

1 ½ cups milk

1 banana

2 cups frozen mixed berries of your choice

You don’t have to go out to get a great smoothie. This mixed berry fruit smoothie is so delicious, will save you money, and it’s easy to make!

Start out by grabbing your favorite blender. I really love this Ninja blender if you are looking for a great one. It holds a lot, has super sharp blades going up the whole blender, and has tons of power so that your smoothies will turn out perfectly smooth.

After you have a good blender, all you need to do is add your berries, milk, and banana and blend!

I like to blend on medium speed for 30 seconds and then give the blender a good shake. Blend for another 30 seconds on high and it should be perfectly smooth.

Pour your smoothie into a cup or travel cup and enjoy!

Tips and tricks for Mixed berry Smoothie

  1. You can use either fresh or frozen fruit for this recipe. I like to use frozen fruit, but if you have fresh berries around you can absolutely substitute them. Just add about ½ cup of ice to your blender in addition to your fruit and milk.
  2. Depending on the berries you choose to use, this smoothie might end up a little tart! The banana should add some needed sweetness, but if you need more you can add a few teaspoons of honey.
  3. The great thing about this recipe is that you can choose whatever berries that you like and it will taste great! I love adding strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, raspberries, or blackberries. Yum!

Can I save any extra smoothie that I have?

I’ve put the rest of my smoothie in the fridge for about a day and it actually comes out great! It may need a quick stir but it should be fine if you want to save it for a short time.

If you don’t plan on drinking the rest of the smoothie that soon, then you can freeze it instead! Just grab an empty ice cube tray and pour the smoothie in.

Once they freeze, you can use them in another smoothie or transfer them to a freezer-safe bag to use later. When you’re ready to use them you can blend with a bit of milk and some fresh fruit to make a new smoothie!

Does it matter what type of milk I use?

Not at all! You can use whatever milk you like to keep in your fridge. I usually have 1% around so that is what I use, but it won’t make much of a difference.

You can also use non-dairy options like soy milk or almond milk. Just keep in mind that if you use sweetened milk it may make your smoothie extra sweet so you’ll have to play around with it!
