100 Christmas Charade Ideas
Nothing gets my family laughing like a good game of Charades. There’s a reason this classic game has been a family favorite for decades!
I’m always laughing to tears when I watch my family and friends act out different things. It’s a great way to break the ice and have fun as a group.
So naturally, I had to come up with some Christmas charades ideas to try this year!
Adding Christmas Charades to Your Family Traditions
There’s no wrong time to play charades, but here are a few ideas for incorporating it into a busy holiday season!
If your kids are getting antsy the night before Christmas, channel some of that energy into a fun game of charades together. You could also play right after Christmas dinner, after opening presents, or whenever you need a simple fun Christmas activity. The great thing about charades is that it doesn’t take any preparation, so you can play at any time!
Charades would also make a great game for a holiday party! You can play with a tiny group or a huge group and still have fun.
How to Play Christmas Charades
Charades is one of those games where each family has their own set of rules, but this is how we love to play!
The first step is to scroll down and download our Christmas Charade Ideas printable with some ready-to-use word cards.
Split into two teams and take turns grabbing a word card. The person who grabs the word card will act out the word to their team and try to get them to guess before a timer runs out. If you have younger kids you might want to set a longer timer, but we usually do 1 minute.
Count up how many times your team gets the right answer and whoever gets the most wins!
Make sure to reward the winners with first dibs on a yummy Christmas tree cupcakes or even a fun Christmas trophy to award to the winners each year.

These are amazing Charade ideas. I have always loved to play, but we always run out of words to act out. Thanks for sharing!
I’ve never played Christmas Charades, but it’s a great idea! We’re just a twosome (or maybe a trio, depending on when our little one decides to make her entrance) so we’ll definitely want to play some games to get in the festive spirit and make Christmas special.
